The Tigers’ boys golf season came to an end on June 1 after placing seventh in sections at Grand National Golf Course in Hinckley.
Junior Jack Southard will be heading to state after shooting 74 and 73 in his two rounds at the Hinckley Golf course. His scores were good enough for a fourth place finish.
“Jack Southard qualifying for state is quite an accomplishment” Said head coach Derek Hasselberg. “Golf is difficult in that you can’t control what your opponents do so Jack went in knowing he just had to play his game and not worry about what other players were doing.”
Princeton will look to improve on their seventh overall finish in the section, as they will return every player on their section roster next year.
Elk River took home the section title, edging Chisago Lakes and Saint Michael Albertville by 12 strokes.
Southard will compete in the state tournament on June 11 and 12.
