Jack Southard of the Princeton Tigers golf team season has come to an end after participating in the MSHSL Boys AAA State Championship. The state tournament was held at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.

Southard, who was also named to the Mississippi Eight All-Conference team, was able to shoot a 76 for his opening round at state held on June 11, after which had him tied for 34th in the tournament field.

Once back in action on June 12th, Southard finished his state appearance with a score of 86, bringing his total 160 for the two days. Southard placed tied for 53rd.

Head coach Derek Hasselberg said in a statement after Southard placed third at the section meet back on June “Jack Southard qualifying for state is quite an accomplishment.”

The Princeton junior has now made back-to- back state appearances and will aim to make the three-peat beginning next spring.
