The Wolves’ women golf team won the Granite Ridge conference championship for the third year in a row after placing first in the first in their meet at Pebble Creek Golf Course on May 20, in Becker.
Coming into the season, the Milaca girls’ team had their sights set on winning the title yet again according to head coach Heather Hoeck but for the team to accomplish the three peat was no easy feat.
“To win it three years in a row with a different group of girls each year is unbelievable” Said Hoeck. “The girls have worked super hard this year and haven’t complained about practicing in the cold weather or playing in the rain; they just come every day ready to work hard” She continued.
It was an entire team effort for the Wolves who were led by Ellie Schindeldecker and Kaitlyn Kiel who shot their personal bests at the conference meet in Becker.
With sections right around the corner, Milaca looks to build off of this success.
“The girls are excited and are ready to go into sections being contenders.” Stated Hoeck.
Section play begins June 3 for the Wolves.
