Richard John Grabow

Richard was born to Margaret O. and Clayton E. Grabow in Minneapolis on December 9, 1953. He grew up in Milaca, MN and graduated from high school in 1972. He earned a BA from Luther College, Decorah, IA and an MBA from St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Richard worked for Southwestern Bell in Minneapolis which eventually became Century Link, from which he retired. He was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley, sang in the American Swedish Institute Male Chorus of Minneapolis, and was a leader in the Single Parents Christian Fellowship. Richard died suddenly on May 13, 2019 of natural causes in Minneapolis, MN. He is survived by sister Carol J. Grabow; brother Paul C. (Suzan) Grabow; niece Rachel B. Grabow; nephews Benjamin P. Grabow, Thomas J. (Ivonne) Grabow and their son James Thomas. His family and many friends will miss him. He loved to be around people. A memorial service to celebrate his faith and life was held on May 17th at Calvary Lutheran Church, with Pastor Howard “Skip” Reeves officiating. Music was provided by Aaron Petersen, soloist, Leonard Danek, organist, and the American Swedish Institute Male Chorus. Interment was at the Calvary Lutheran Church Columbarium. Blessed are they who die in Christ. Soli deo Gloria.
