Duane Anderson, 77, died at his home on Thursday, July 4, 2019. He was born on December 6, 1941, to Harold and Helen (Nelson) Anderson, grew up in the Santiago area, and graduated from Princeton High School. After serving in the Army for three years, he worked at Hoffman Engineering in Anoka for 37 years until his retirement. Duane was married to Rochelle Streich at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie, Minnesota on September 8, 1973. They were married for 45 years and were the parents of two children, Lori and Shawn. Duane enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, watching sports on television, and coffee with friends at the Santiago Town Hall. He was a long-time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Santiago. Duane was preceded in death by his parents and son Shawn. He is survived by his wife Rochelle, daughter Lori, granddaughter Andrea Westerhoff and grandson Zach Anderson. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on August 3 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Santiago with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Lunch will be served following. There will be a private burial at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Duelm at a later date.
