With all votes in to decide the Milaca School Board race with four open seats, it's certain the board will have three new faces at its table and that voters said no to both referendum questions.
- 2,535 votes puts Sara (Herr) Larsen onto the school board
- 2,103 votes for Rachelle Nelson mean the appointed newcomer stays on the school board past December.
- 1,653 votes for Jere Day re-seats this incumbent
- 1,594 votes for Genevieve Plumadore puts another new face on the Milaca School Board.
The next-closest candidate was incumbent Todd Quaintance with 1,498 votes.
Voters denied both an operating referendum that would prevent cuts and a capital-maintenance bond referendum question that would have enabled the school to bond for about $4 million mostly for a new roof but other maintenance improvements as well.
Voters said no to the “revenue authorization” 2,922 to 1,840 and to the capital maintenance projects 2,731 to 2,023.
