The Milaca School Board met on Monday, June 17, and high school principal Damian Patnode said five activity director and dean of students candidates were scheduled for interviews this week.
The school district identified the following individuals as position finalists: Paul Arens, Rick Halley, Brian Julson, Matthew St. Martin, and Nikole Phillips.
Patnode said those five would be interviewed on Tuesday, June 18.
Last month, the board accepted Ben Kvidt’s resignation as assistant principal of student activities effective at the end of the 2018-19 school year.
The board approved Kvidt’s resignation as a consent agenda item without discussion at its May 20 meeting.
Kvidt became Milaca’s activities director in July 2016, when he replaced Jerry Westphal, who retired as activities director after 31 years in the district.
Prior to coming to Milaca, Kvidt was Zimmerman’s head boys basketball coach and a social studies teacher for 11 years.
In 2017, Kvidt was one of six candidates vying for an open activities director position in the Detroit Lakes School District.
