The Medica Foundation announced Feb. 8 a $5,000 grant award to the Milaca-based Pearl Crisis Center to support health-related programs and services core to the organization’s mission in 2018.

The Pearl Crisis Center serves victims of domestic and sexual violence in Mille Lacs County, helping them find resources and support. The non-profit organization does it through through direct services, prevention, and community awareness.

The Medica Foundation awarded $1.2 million in grants to nonprofit organizations throughout Medica’s service area that in 2018 will serve about 200,000 people.The funding priorities for the Medica Foundation include behavioral health, early childhood health and general health improvement.
