Mille Lacs County Sheriff Don Lorge reports that on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at approximately 11:59 p.m. Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 call from a woman reporting that she and her boyfriend had discovered a motorcycle crash in the area of the 3700 block of 70th Avenue in rural Princeton Township.

Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene with the assistance of the Princeton Police Department, Princeton Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance Service.

Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement found a Honda dirt bike type motorcycle had crashed and the driver severely injured.

The North Memorial Ambulance Service arrived on the scene and the driver of the motorcycle was found deceased, the sheriff's office reported.

Preliminary investigation into the crash indicates that the driver and lone occupant on the motorcycle had been driving on the shoulder of the roadway and appears to have struck a mailbox causing the crash.

The Minnesota State Patrol was requested to assist in the investigation of the crash and the investigation is on-going.

The body was taken by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Ramsey for an autopsy and positive identification.
