Boy and Girl Scouts played an integral part of the Memorial Day events, with some raising the colors and presenting individual military flags and others helping with various parts of the honor ceremonies. The mournful "Taps" was played at the end of each ceremony.
Each VFW and American Legion ended the day with a luncheon in each of the respective cities.
