Jerome E. Larson, age 79, of Maple Lake, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Estates of Delano.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake with Steven Hagedon officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Jerome Emil Larson was born July 6, 1938 in Glendorado to Edwin and Mabel (Balfanz) Larson. He graduated from Foley High School with the Class of 1956. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Intrepid. Lars worked as a welder for Hoffman Engineering Co. in Anoka for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. Jerry enjoyed baking, cooking, listening to country and polka music, dancing, reading the daily newspaper and talking with friends and family. He was a charmer that earned him the nick name of “Romeo” while living at the Estates of Delano.
The pride of Jerome's life was his family. He is survived by his daughters Roslyn (David) Hanson of Bemidji, Elizabeth (Daniel) Giese of Maple Lake and Rebecca Erickson of Inver Grove Heights; six grandchildren Michelle Fursa, Susan and Rebecca Giese, Kelcey Schenheit, Michael and Jennifer Erickson; three great grandchildren Brookston and Vincent Erickson and David Gatten; and sister Louise Beadles of Ladysmith, WI. Jerome is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Mabel; sister Marita Pearson; and brothers Louis, Chuck and John, Sr.
