Harlen Stanley Pruett


Harlen Stanley Pruett, 83, of Foley, entered his eternal rest, on September 21, 2017.

Harlen was born on September 6, 1934 in Grand Forks, ND to Stanley and Helga Pruett. He was the oldest of five children and learned at an early age the value of hard work. He served in the Army from 1958 to 1960, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, and served as a tank commander.

Harlen married Brenda Olson in 1958 and in 1960 she gave birth to a son, Charles (Chuck) Pruett. They were married for 25 years. On November 16, 1990 Harlen married JuDee Wilson and they resided in Bloomington, MN. In 2016, they moved to Princeton/Foley area to be closer to family.

Harlen worked in the trucking industry for over 25 years and was a Star and Tribune paper delivery person for over 20 years. He was loved by his employers because he gave them an honest days work for an honest days pay.

Harlen was very generous and always was ready to give when he saw a need. He enjoyed many activities including playing cards, watching sports, especially the Vikings, and playing pool. He especially enjoyed playing with his dog Bandit. He and his wife, JuDee, were faithful members of New Life Church, Princeton, for 20 years.

Harlen is survived by his wife, JuDee; his son, Chuck (Julie) Pruett of Princeton; four grandchildren, Chris (Kristin) Pruett, Kortney (Joe) Schwartz, Kyle (Maryssa) Pruett; Katie (Corey) Kalinowski; brothers Ronnie and Darryl; and Sharon (Williams), his sister.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Helga; brothers, Jim and Dennis, and granddaughter Claire Pruett.

Memorial service will be held on September 29 at 3 p.m. with visitation at 2 p.m. at New Life Church, Princeton; Rev. Chuck Pruett presiding.
