Midwest Special Services and the Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation are supporting Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, Sept. 8 to 14, to recognize the accomplishments and contributions made by direct support professionals to the lives of people with disabilities.
“Direct support professionals are at the core of our mission, helping people with disabilities to live the lives that they choose,” said MSS and MOHR President Julie Johnson. “Their work is valued, needed and appreciated.”
MSS employs 105 direct support professionals who support 480 individuals in and around the Twin Cities Metro area. With more than 100 disability service providers across the state, MOHR’s mission is to promote and strengthen employment and life engagement opportunities as chosen by people with disabilities.
MSS is a nonprofit day and employment services provider for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with six locations in the Twin Cities, including Apple Valley and Eagan. More information can be found at mssmn.org.
