To the editor:

A recent letter to the editor writer questioned why he hasn’t heard more from U.S. Rep. Angie Craig regarding comments made by Rep. Ilhan Omar.

I’d like to pose the question a different way. Where have virtually every one of our U.S. and state Republican senators and representatives been when our president spews hateful and hurtful comments at seemingly every American constituency except conservative white males? The silence is simply deafening.

President Donald Trump has insulted women, immigrants, the LGBTQ community, blacks, Hispanics, POWs, Gold Star families and to top it off – the handicapped. Crickets chirping all around from the GOP.

I pose that this divisive behavior from someone who purports to be our president is much more dangerous to our democracy than the opinions of a junior representative from Minnesota.

As my mother taught me when I was young, whenever you point your finger at someone else, don’t forget there are three more pointed back at yourself.
