To the editor:

The city of Apple Valley is exceptionally well run. Per capita, serious crime is lower than the U.S. and Minnesota averages. We have a highly rated volunteer Fire Department. The business climate is doing well with continued economic development and construction of single- and multi-family dwellings. We enjoy an expansive array of parks, paths and other amenities. Under the philosophy that all city streets benefit all residents, street repair is paid for out of general funds. That eliminates the need for special assessments when road work is done in front of a home. None of this happens by accident. For these reasons and more, I support returning current council members Tom Melander, John Bergman and Mayor Clint Hooppaw to the City Council this November.
