The community celebrated a milestone and growth of Trinity Care Center at the grand opening of The Chateau addition in Farmington.
Generations of residents cheered during the ribbon cutting and blessing held Oct. 3, outdoors near the new wing and healing gardens.
“The Chateau is now open and the rest of the facility has been remodeled, and it feels like a whole new place,” said Joy Lauterbach, director of activities and volunteer service.
The celebration was led by a Farmington American Legion and Apple Valley American Legion flag dedication, a facility blessing, tours, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment.
Last week residents at Trinity were moved from the north and east wings into their beautiful new home, Lauterbach said. Now the north and east rooms are in the process of the beautification, she added.
The rest of the senior care facility has also been remodeled, so the whole facility looks like a whole new place.
Lauterbach said: “We stand solid and ready for change and couldn’t be happier to hear residents say comments such as: 'I can’t believe we get to live here!' and 'It’s so gorgeous and I’m the lucky one to be the first in this room and it is so fun.' ”
