Aspiring young anglers ages 6-10 will learn how to set up their rod, bait their hook, cast like a pro and take fish off their line during Burnsville’s youth fishing clinic’s duplicate sessions Tuesday, June 18, or Wednesday, June 19, 10 a.m. – noon at Crystal Beach Park, 1101 Crystal Lake Road E. Participants also will learn about different kinds of fish and the baits used to reel them in.

The event is being presented in partnership with Minnesota Trout Unlimited and Trout in the Classroom.

Cost is $10 for one day.

All equipment will be provided, but if participants have a special rod, reel or tackle at home they would like to use, they are welcome to bring it. A fishing license is not required for youths under age 15. Parents are welcome to stay, but would need their own equipment and a license if they intend to fish.

Registration deadline is Monday, June 17. Register online at https://bit.ly/2KID0EB, by phone at 952-895-4500, or at Burnsville City Hall’s Recreation Office, 100 Civic Center Parkway.
