ResourceWest hosts school supply drive

ResourceWest, a nonprofit in Hopkins, hosts a supply drive on Aug. 27 for students at Hopkins and Minnetonka schools. If there is any year that they need to support families, it’s this year, said Executive Director Tarrah Palm. Traditionally, students get choices of what supplies they want, but this year the nonprofit included essential items in the pre-packed backpacks. On the first day of the drive, about 450 students came through to get backpacks, Palm said. ResourceWest plans to distribute more supplies in the upcoming weeks in front of the office at 1011 First St. S., Hopkins. The nonprofit will help make sure families have what they need, such as coordinating internet services for students, which is especially important for distance learning. Info:
