The League of Women Voters Wayzata-Plymouth Area will host a candidate forum with candidates running for Wayzata School Board 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the auditorium at Wayzata High School, 4955 Peony Lane N., Plymouth.

Four Wayzata School Board seats will be open and decided during the Tuesday, Nov. 5, election. The elected school board members’ terms will begin in January 2020. The school board has seven members who are elected at large to four-year terms. 

Incumbents Bonita Lucky, Linda Cohen and Cheryl Polzin are running for re-election. Joining them in the race are Emily Fair, Seanne Falconer, Vishala Kamojjala, Bindu Moram and Sheila Prior.

All candidates have been invited to participate in the forum.

Candidates will respond to questions on a wide variety of issues of concern to voters.

The League of Women Voters Wayzata-Plymouth Area is sponsoring the event to bring nonpartisan voter education to the local community and to provide an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates, so voters can make informed choices. 

The forum will be rebroadcast on cable TV and made available for viewing online on YouTube.

Voters attending the forum have two opportunities to submit questions to the candidates. Written questions will be accepted at the forum or voters can submit questions in advance up to Monday, Sept. 16 by emailing By League of Women Voter policy, the identity of the person asking the question is confidential and any identifying information will be removed.
