The Wayzata ninth-grader finished third in the triple jump during the State Class AA Girls Track and Field Meet June 8 at Hamline University. Her best effort was 37 feet, 1/2 inch.
Daniels placed in both hurdles events during the State Track Meet June 8. He took sixth place in the 300-meter hurdles and ninth place in the 110-meter high hurdles to help Wayzata place third in the team standings.
The Armstrong High girls track and field star tied for third place in the high jump during the State Class AA Meet at Hamline University. Rowles’ best jump was 5 feet, 4 inches.
The Wayzata High boys track team finished third in the state Class AA ranks last weekend with the 4x800-meter relay winning the title. Seniors Andrew Brandt, Zachary Miller, Cam Arkesteyn and Patrick Leonard carried the baton for a time of 7:50.59.
Five Wayzata High golfers qualified for state out of Section 6AAA last week. They are Seth Almquist and Brendan Lee from the boys team and Melanie LeMinh, Amy Burnham and Saachi Deshmukh from the girls team.
White emerged as Wayzata High’s leading scorer in the State Class AA Boys Track and Field Meet June 7-8 at Hamline University. White won the long jump with a best of 22 feet, 5 inches and also took third place in the 200-meter dash in 22.33 seconds. In addition, White ran on the Trojans’ third-place 4x100 relay that included Sean Diedrich, Alvin George and Owen Mickelson.
