Christian Adeti from the Titambe Dance Ensemble performs with fourth graders of FAIR Pilgrim Lane Elementary School Feb. 3. The performance was in the school gymnasium in Plymouth. To prepare for this concert, students took a week-long African Dance class led by Adeti. For Adeti, teaching children about his Ghana culture is more than just showing students how to use drums. He is cultivating a love of diversity.Â
Fourth-graders Lily Nyoike, Zoey Matura, Evan Mittendorff, Kenjoy Sledge and Antwon Ford Irby Jr. show off their percussive talents at FAIR Pilgrim Lane.

In Ghana, the word baaju means come dance or come drum. Though most of the students focus on the drumming, Jones, second from the right, leaned into the dancing portion as well.Â
