The St. Louis Park Senior Program is highlighting the following:
• Douglas Carlson will teach iPad Basics 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Lenox Community Center, 6715 Minnetonka Blvd.
• An “Out and About” group will take a luncheon cruise 10 a.m.to 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, from Hudson, Wisconsin. The boat ride along the shores of Minnesota and Wisconsin on the St. Croix River will include a build-your-own-sandwich buffet. A coach will take participants to Knoke’s Chocolates and Nuts Store in downtown Hudson and other nearby shops.
• Dan Hartman’s Thursday Seminars on American Wars will feature “The History of Immigration in America” 1-3 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Lenox Community Center. The United States experienced major waves of immigration during the colonial era, the first part of the 19th century and from the 1880s to 1920. The class will include information about why immigrants came to America, federal legislation restricting immigration and more.
• An open house and class sampler is planned 1-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19. Admission is free. Mini-classes are planned. Participants can also find out about the activities offered by the senior program, sign up for door prizes and have dessert and coffee. Donations for the St. Louis Park Emergency Program will be accepted.
