Training magazine/Lakewood Media Group has announced the promotion of St. Louis Park resident Lori Gardner to publisher of Training magazine.
Gardner, 50, joined the group in 2010 as an account executive. She was promoted to associate publisher in 2017 for the Training and Sales & Marketing Management magazines.
“Lori has been a key to the successful development of products beyond traditional print on both brands, especially in the digital and leadgen areas,” said Mike Murrell, president of the group.
In her role as publisher, Gardner will oversee the sales team, manage print and digital sales, webinar sales, conference sponsorships and supplier/partner business development. She will also continue to manage a number of key accounts.
Prior to joining Lakewood, Gardner had roles in business publishing, starting in small-town newspaper production and then moving to magazine circulation, copywriting and eventually editing. From 2002 to 2007, she served as editor of the custom publishing division of the Minneapolis-based Greenspring Media Group. Gardner then worked as special accounts manager for SalesForceXP magazine, which eventually transitioned to Sales & Marketing Management magazine.
Gardner has also been a primary volunteer and key fundraiser for the Face It Foundation, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit.
