Minnesota House of Representatives Majority Leader Ryan Winkler (DFL-Golden Valley) and Rep. Raymond Dehn (DFL-Brooklyn Park) will host a bipartisan roundtable 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at the University of Minnesota Robert J. Jones Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center, Room 105, to discuss next steps in the effort to restore the vote for Minnesotans who’ve served their time in prison and are living in their community. The center is located at 2001 Plymouth Ave. N. in Minneapolis.

Winkler, Dehn, Rep. Carlos Mariani, Rep. Rena Moran, Rep. Aisha Gomez, Rep. Nick Zerwas, Sen. Bobby Joe Champion, Secretary of State Steve Simon and advocates are scheduled to attend.

Roundtable participants will discuss a plan to engage Minnesotans in a conversation about restoring the vote, talk about the importance of the legislation and take questions from audience members.

Dehn sponsored a bill to restore the vote during the 2019 legislative session, but Senate Republicans did not advance the legislation.
