Lake Conference qualifiers Eden Prairie and Hopkins are on opposite sides of the eight-team bracket for the State Class AAAA Baseball Tournament, which gets underway Friday, June 14, at St. Paul’s CHS Field.
Eden Prairie will meet defending state champion Stillwater at 10 a.m.
Hopkins, the third seed, will play the final game of the day at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
The other games that day had Mounds View against East Ridge at 12:30 p.m. and Blaine against New Prague at 3 p.m.
Semifinals are set for noon and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at CHS.
The championship game is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Target Field.
The State Lacrosse Tournaments for both boys and girls began on Tuesday, June 11, and will continue this week at Minnetonka and Chanhassen High Schools.
First-round pairings for the boys teams were: Lakeville North vs. Eden Prairie, Wayzata vs. Prior Lake, St. Thomas Academy vs. Mahtomedi and Centennial vs. Benilde-St. Margaret’s, which opened tournament play as the No. 1 seed. Semifinal boys games will be played at 3 and 5 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Minnetonka’s Einer Anderson Stadium. The finals will be played at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Chanhassen High.
On the girls side, Lake Conference champion Eden Prairie is the No. 1 seed. The Eagles opened the tourney against Cretin-Derham Hall June 11. Other first-round games had Forest Lake meeting Breck School, Maple Grove Playing Prior Lake and Stillwater facing off against Lakeville North.
Girls semifinals will be at 3 and 5 p.m. June 13 at Chanhassen. The title game will be played at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Chanhassen.
