To the Editor:
I encourage all voters to support Deb Brinkman for the at-large A seat on the St. Louis Park City Council. Deb is a lifelong SLP resident who has been quite actively engaged in community activities. She has been the president of the St. Louis Park League of Women Voters. She was a leader in the successful effort to promote the city’s adoption of ranked-choice voting for municipal elections. She is a Children First Asset Champion and led the creation of the Kids Vote project, in which children learn about elections and vote like their parents do.
Deb has identified several priorities for her city council work, emphasizing the critical importance of addressing climate change, eliminating environmental pollution and promoting community health and civic engagement. Please see her website at debbrinkman.org for more information.
I have known and worked with Deb for many years and have observed her thoughtful, analytical and effective leadership in action. As a former St. Louis Park City Council member, I know that Deb’s dedication, energy and intelligence will be invaluable in continuing and improving the city’s progressive governance and programming. On Nov. 5, St. Louis Park will hold our first election using ranked-choice voting. I encourage St. Louis Park voters to mark Deb Brinkman as your first choice for the at-large A city council position.
