Eden Prairie Early Childhood Education is hosting a diaper drive throughout the month of October. Collected items will be donated to families in need through PROP.
Community members can donate new or opened packages of diapers, wipes and reusable cloth diapers to one of these drop off sites:
• Education Center, 8040 Mitchell Road
• Lower Campus, 8100 School Road
• Eden Prairie Community Center, 16700 Valley View Road
• Dell Road New Horizon Academy, 17995 Linwood Court
• Kinderberry Hill, 10160 Hennepin Town Road
• KinderCare Learning Center, 8825 Aztec Drive
“A lot of families have unused packages of diapers and wipes when their kids graduate to the next size or get potty-trained,” Early Childhood Director Sarah Moline said. “This is a great way to pass along those items to someone who could really use them. We hold this diaper drive every year, and we generally collect about 13,000 diapers and 6,000 wipes. It’s really remarkable to see how this community gives back.”
Diapers are given to PROP in early November to be supplied to families. PROP is a nonprofit based in Eden Prairie that provides food and comprehensive support for neighbors in need in order to create a path towards self-sufficiency.
A diaper packing event is set for 9:15-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the Education Center in order to organize diapers by size before donating to PROP. Volunteers are sought for this event. No reservations are required.
To donate diapers or wipes, visit any drop-off site through Thursday, Oct. 31. For more information, call 952-975-6940 or visit EdenPR.org/DiaperDrive.
