Burnet Fine Art & Advisory’s newest exhibition showcases Minneapolis-based artist R. J. Kern’s series of photographs entitled “The Best of the Best.” The show features photos of champion animals from the 2018 Minnesota State Fair. Using a digital camera, Kern photographed winning exemplars of domesticated animals then combined 19th-century salt printing techniques and contemporary inkjet technology into images that emphasize changes in breeds over time and advances in photographic technology. “The Best of the Best” will be on display through Aug. 31 at Burnet Fine Art & Advisory, 775 Lake St. E., Wayzata. Burnet is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and by appointment. Info: BurnetArt.com and rjkern.com (Sun photo by Jason Jenkins)
