Robbinsdale Cooper girls swimming hosted Park Center on Sept. 24 inside Plymouth Middle School and won 100-74 in a matchup between 5AA section teams.

The Hawks won nine events after moving their two 400-free relay teams to exhibition status to allow the lone Pirates quartet to claim the last race.

Junior Elley Smith joined sophomores Maddie Monner, Emma Launderville and Claire Stromberg on the top 200 medley relay, and they finished first in 2 minutes, 11,93 seconds.

Co-captains Launderville and Smith added other wins, as well. Launderville won the 200 individual medley in 2:34.3, and she also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:20.17.

Smith won the 100 butterfly in 1:17.01, and Smith and Launderville joined sophomores Claire and Morgan Stromberg to claim the 200 free relay in 1:57.43.

Sophomore Kendra Kerner and Monner also won two individual events apiece. Kerner touched the wall first in the 200 free in 2:30.42 and in the 500 free in 6:45.49. Monner won the 100 free in 1:03.63, which is about 10 seconds behind the state standard, and the 100 backstroke in 1:15.27.

Freshman Camille West added runner-up finishes in the 200 free in 2:31.02 and in the 500 free in 6:57.06. Morgan Stromberg was runner-up in the 200 IM in 2:52.88 and in the 100 breaststroke in 1:28.44.

Smith was runner-up in the 50 free in 27.85, and Claire Stromberg was third in 29.44.

Claire Stromberg also took runner-up in the 100 free in 1:07.25.

Sophomore Emma Borisevich joined Morgan Stromberg and freshmen Olivia Lauter and Tiana Little in the 200 medley relay and took third in 2:29.68.

Kerner, Lauter, Little and West were third in the 200 free relay in 2:09.64, and Borisevich added a third place in the 100 backstroke in 1:25.2.
