Champlin Park girls soccer remained undefeated last week to win the Northwest Suburban Conference championship.
The Class 2A sixth-ranked Rebels (14-0-1 overall, 12-0-1 conference) remained four points ahead of Andover and Centennial to win the title and earn a No. 1 seed in the 5AA section tournament, which begins Thursday, Oct. 10.
Champlin Park defeated Blaine 3-0, Andover 2-1 and Rogers 1-0 last week.
The Rebels open the 5AA tournament against Park Center (0-16) in the section quarterfinal on Oct. 10.
The winner of that game plays the winner of No. 4 Spring Lake Park (4-10-2) and No. 5 Robbinsdale Cooper (7-7).
Roseville (10-5-1) earned the No. 2 seed and plays No. 7 Osseo (4-11-1). Mounds View (10-6) is No. 3 and hosts No. 6 Irondale (5-10-1).
Champlin Park 3, Blaine 0
Three different Rebels scored goals on Oct. 1 in a 3-0 against Blaine.
Senior forward Julia Sullivan, junior forward Maille Mathis and freshman midfielder Paige Kalal all hit the back of the net, and Kalal and Sullivan also added assists.
Freshman goalie Sarah Martin had three saves.
Champlin Park 2, Andover 1
In a battle for first place on Oct. 3, Champlin Park remained undefeated in a 2-1 win at Andover.
Sullivan scored twice, and sophomore midfielder Allison Hartig added an assist.
Martin had eight saves.
Champlin Park 1, Rogers 0
The Rebels clinched the conference title and an undefeated regular season record with a 1-0 win at Rogers on Oct. 5.
Senior forward Aimee Shute scored the lone goal with an assist going to junior forward Delaney Johnson.
