A 38-year-old Robbinsdale woman was charged with first-degree damage to property June 3. The charges resulted from a May 31 incident in which the woman, Gina Rausch, repeatedly struck a neighbor’s vehicle with a hammer.
Police were called just before midnight to a residence on the 3600 block of Vera Cruz in response to a disturbance call. Officers found Rausch actively hitting a car with a hammer. The complaint documented extensive damage to the vehicle, including two broken windows, and dents on other windows and the body of the vehicle. Repair estimates were in excess of $1,000.
The owner of the vehicle confirmed he had not given the woman permission to damage his vehicle and alleged that she was drunk. Rausch’s bail was set at $5,000. Conditions of release included no contact with the vehicle owner or use of drugs and alcohol, and random drug tests.
