After police responded to a residence on the 7000 block of Dutton Avenue in Brooklyn Park on a report of a weapons-related disturbance Aug. 3, no evidence of gunfire was found, according to a Brooklyn Park Police alert.

A large police presence formed at the location after officers first responded at 8:40 p.m. The reporting party originally told police their mother was playing with a gun and it discharged, but after checking the residence and speaking with people at the scene, officers found no evidence to corroborate the statement that a weapon was fired.
