It was a slushy, soggy and slippery evening when the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train rolled into Golden Valley and St. Louis Park Dec. 13, but there was something about seeing a tricked-out train that kept spirits merry and bright. The decorated train (and its accompanying concert-in-a-boxcar) rolled in to the awe and delight of a bundled-up crowd.
Visitors brought a giving attitude; in total, the event raised $19,100 and 1,000 pounds of food for St. Louis Park Emergency Program and $1,900 and 800 pounds of food for People Responding In Social Ministry. Canadian Pacific made an additional several-thousand dollar donation to each organization.
