Pilgrim Dry Cleaners is hosting its 12th annual Scouting for Uniforms Drive throughout the month of July this year, with collections kicking off July 1.

Pilgrim will collect Scouts uniforms at each of its 27 locations, including its two new locations in Uptown Minneapolis and the North Loop in Minneapolis. Pilgrim will clean the uniforms, then provide them to Northern Star Scouting for distribution to Scouts with limited financial resources.

Blue and khaki uniform shirts are in higher demand this year as both boys and girls are welcomed into both the Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA.

The campaign has collected more than 4,200 uniforms since 2007.

To find a Pilgrim Dry Cleaners location to drop off uniforms, visit pilgrimdrycleaners.com.

Uniforms can also be dropped off at Northern Star’s Base Camp, at 6202 Bloomington Road, Fort Snelling, during office hours 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Those without a uniform who still want to contribute to the cause can donate online at northernstar.org/uniform-drive. Checks are also accepted and should be made out to “Northern Star Council BSA” and dropped off at a Pilgrim Dry Cleaners location or mailed to: Pilgrim Dry Cleaners, Attn: Uniform Drive, 3217 85th Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, MN, 55443. Proceeds will be used to purchase additional uniforms in high demand programs and sizes.

Pilgrim Dry Cleaners also started the original “Coats for Kids,” more than 30 years ago.

For information, call Northern Star Scouting at 612-261-2300 or visit northernstar.org.
