The Crystal Recreation Department received two 2018 Minnesota Recreation and Park Association Awards of Excellence at the June 4 city council meeting.
The department earned an award in the parks and facilities category for its edible garden, now open at the Crystal Community Center.
The other award was earned in the programming and Eevents category for the department’s Young Mudder event, which was June 8 at Valley Place Park.
The awards were created in 1987 to acknowledge agencies and staff for their exemplary projects.
The awards were presented by City of Shoreview Parks and Recreation Director Tracy Peterson.
