Kimberly Sanberg’s term with the Golden Valley City Council officially ended on May 16. The City Council formally accepted Sanberg’s resignation at its regular meeting on April 18 after she indicated her plans to move abroad with her family.

When the city opened the application process earlier this year, Roger Bergman, Stephen Ettel, Sophia Ginis, Andy Johnson, and Stephen Merriman turned in applications. On May 19, members of the Golden Valley City Council spent the morning interviewing the five candidates. It was Ginis who inspired the council the most.
