The Central defense nearly recorded a shutout against Sibley East on Friday night, giving up just six points in the loss.
The Raiders swarmed the ball, with 10 players recording atleast five total tackles. Jesse Weinand led the team with 16, Reese Wischnack and Brayden Baumann each had nine, Jesse Broin and Jacob Kalkes both had eight, Caleb Butler had seven, and Ben Hoernemann Bryce Homan, Charlie Steinhagen and Kody Johnson each had six. Kalkes also had a sack, while Butler and Homan each had a pass deflection.
While the Raiders were not able to move the ball much on the ground, they had several big plays in the passing game. Noah Strickfaden had four passes for 10 or more yards, with two going to Homan for 31 and 17 yards, one to Steinhagen for 16 yards and one to Hunter Neubarth for 13. The freshman passer threw for 100 yards in the 6-0 loss.
The Raiders head to Fairmont Oct. 11 before the regular season finale, when Tri-City United heads to town Oct. 16.
