Voters in ISD 111 approved the district’s request to revoke and replace the existing operating levy and approved a facilities bond levy.
Voters approved the operating levy by a nearly 10 point margin – with 59.2 percent supporting the measure and 40.8 percent opposing it. The bond levy – which will be used to update some of the structures around the middle and high schools – passed with 57.26 percent supporting and 43.74 percent opposing. Both measures passing means the district will continue to function without having to make cuts in popular programs or increasing class sizes.
The total impact on the average taxpayer – with a house valued at $230,000 – will be a little over $14 per month.
