A Waconia man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday in Camden Township, according to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle crash in the 10600 block of Yale Avenue in Camden Township just before 6:30 p.m. on May 7. Upon arriving on the scene, deputies found a downed motorcycle and a single adult male rider – identified as 64-year-old Clay Joseph Nystrom of Waconia – on the gravel roadway.
Responding medical personnel administered lifesaving efforts, but Nystrom was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the sheriff’s office, Nystrom was traveling northbound on Yale Avenue at the time of the crash, and appeared to have lost control of the motorcycle on the gravel road. Deputies noted Nystrom was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by both the Carver County Sheriff’s Office and Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
