Mackenthun’s Fine Foods marked the grand opening of its refreshed store last Friday with a special ribbon cutting, special treats and in-store specials.
“Mackenthun’s thanks HomeTown Bank and the many contractors, vendors, local businesses and organizations that contributed to making this remodel a reality,” owner Kim Mackenthun said at the ribbon cutting. “We also recognize, with sincere gratitude, our many customers for their patience and continued loyalty throughout the process and, of course, our friendly, knowledgeable staff who consistently deliver the Mackenthun’s exceptional shopping experience.”
Next-generation owners Jamie Mackenthun and Jessa Theis noted that the store renovation is “reflective of current shopping trends and brings a fresh look and feel to the store,” while Waconia Chamber of President Kellie Sites highlighted Mackenthun’s 102-year family presence in Waconia, from its start as a local butcher shop to a full-service grocery store and significant supporter of the community .
“Our recently completed renovation enhanced our store into a state-of-the-art facility that responds to our current customers’ unique needs,” notes a Mackenthun’s new release about the store refresh. “Fresh is the operative word, as you encounter Mackenthun’s expanded fresh salad bar, soup station, specialty cheese case, and new hot food bar in our much-expanded deli department. Personalize your home dining experience with multicultural Hot Bar selections that include Mexican, Italian, Asian and American dishes.
Meanwhile, the produce area now boasts 80 new organic items, and features a wide selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables. Customers also will find a greater variety of organic and gluten-free options, as well as more natural and organic selections in its health and beauty sections.
