The bicyclist struck by a train and killed in Fridley Thursday, June 20, has been identified.
Daniel Corr, 48, of Minneapolis, died after a Northstar Commuter Rail train hit him, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
The Coon Rapids Police Department found Corr’s body at the Northstar Metro Transit Station on Northdale Boulevard in Coon Rapids just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
At the request of Coon Rapids police, the Fridley Police Department identified a possible crash site on the railroad tracks south of Osborne Road Northeast in Fridley.
It appears Corr was riding a bicycle when a northbound train hit him in that area, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The incident is under investigation by the Coon Rapids Police Department, Fridley Police Department, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
