Bloomington’s annual nod to its pioneer days returns this week.

The annual River Rendezvous features demonstrations and re-enactments of pioneer life in the Midwest, and an evening showcase of 19th-century pioneer life and trades will be hosted 4-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Pond-Dakota Mission Park, 401 E. 104th St.

Native American dancing, frontier farming, wilderness skills and tours of the 1856 Gideon and Agnes Pond House will be among the many demonstrations and performances held during the evening.

Admission is $6 and free for children 3 and younger.
