There were no surprises in the State Class 4A Girls Basketball Tournament Wednesday as the top four seeds won.
That means three of the four teams in the semifinals Thursday night are from the Lake Conference.
No. 1 Hopkins blitzed Roseville Wednesday 81-40 with 24 points from Liv McGill, 23 from Taylor Woodson and 16 from Nu Nu Agara. In the 6 p.m. Thursday, Hopkins meets Stillwater, a 67-65 winner over Lakeville North.
On the bottom half of the bracket, St. Michael-Albertville, an 80-60 winner over Eagan, plays Eden Prairie, a 78-57 winner over Centennial, in the 8 p.m. game Thursday. Ja’Kahla Craft scored 24 and Tessa Johnson added 21 in STMA’s first-round win. In Eden Prairie’s win over Centennial, balance was golden with 12 points each from Annika Anderson and Ella Hardwick and 10 each from Molly Lenz and Rae Ehrman. Tori Schlagel added nine and Ashley Fritz scored seven.
