John Moravec, an expert in education and the future of work, has filed for the Bloomington Board of Education.

Moravec, who ran in the 2017 school board election, announced last week that he will be seeking one of three seats on the Bloomington ballot in November.

“I believe it is time for positive change so we can put our kids and schools first. I’ve been out door knocking and meeting with folks, and people strongly feel that we need a fresh voice to represent all of Bloomington on the school board,” Moravec noted in his announcement. “I believe district leadership has lost touch with its students, teachers, and community, depriving us of a voice, while the majority of current board members sit passively.

“I’m running openly on a platform of doing what’s right and responsible for our students and workers in the district.”

In addition to founding Education Futures LLC, Moravec earned a Ph.D. in educational policy and administration and a master’s degree in business.
