Edina Police responded to a report of a student possessing a gun at Edina High School May 31, soon concluding that there was no credible threat.
Information about the incident, which was sent in an email to families by EHS Principal Andrew Beaton the following day, was recently obtained by the Sun Current. The email states that the High School’s police liaison received the unconfirmed information, which then was followed up on by the Edina Police Department. The department “immediately investigated the report and determined that there is no credible threat,” the email reads.
Beaton continues, noting that additional officers may have been seen on campus the day before. “This was done as a preliminary precaution as the Edina Police Department gathered information,” he wrote.
The case, which officers initially investigated as suspicious activity, is now considered inactive.
