Bloomington Kennedy High School’s show choir Rhythm in Gold earned an invitation to the FAME Show Choir National Finals in Branson, Missouri, next month.
Competing against show choirs in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest, the group earned Grand Champion honors with performances inspired by “Moulin Rouge” at the Waconia Star Power competition on Feb. 18.
Rhythm in Gold also earned awards for best vocals, best choreography and people’s choice. Kennedy senior Sophia Hanson and freshman Saturn Jordan received best soloist awards.
Rhythm in Gold will compete at the 2023 Show Choir National Finals in Branson, Missouri, on April 1.
The group consists of 65 students, including band and crew, and is led by Director Nikki Jordan.
Rhythm in Gold has earned three top finishes in four major competitions, and will perform this weekend at Kennedy High School. Performances are 7 p.m. Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18, at the high school, 9701 Nicollet Ave.
