Three people found dead in a Bloomington parking lot appeared to have died as a result of murder and suicide, according to the Bloomington Police Department.
Police officers were dispatched to the parking lot of France Place, 3601 Minnesota Drive, at 8:25 p.m. Feb. 1 following a report of a parked pickup truck with an occupant who was slumped over, Police Chief Booker Hodges said. The office complex is near the intersection of France Avenue and Minnesota Drive, and the vehicle was parked in the southwest corner of the lot, Hodges noted.
“When our officers arrived, they found three people in the vehicle, who were deceased from gunshot wounds,” he said. The investigation determined that the three people included a father and son, with the third person being a business associate, none of whom were from Bloomington, he added.
“There is no danger to the public,” Hodges said. “What we believe took place here was a murder-suicide.”
The names of the victims have not been released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, and the incident remains under investigation, according to Hodges.
