Three candidates have filed for the Bloomington Board of Education in the opening days of the filing period.
Boardmember Nelly Korman has filed for re-election and will be joined on the ballot by John Moravec and Mia Olson. The school board election is Nov. 5.
The filing period runs through Aug. 13. Filings will be accepted at the Educational Services Center, 1350 W. 106th St., weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13. The filing fee is $2.
The terms for school board seats held by Maureen Bartolotta, Dick Bergstrom and Korman expire Jan. 6, 2020.
Candidates must be a resident of the school district for 30 days preceding the election, a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years old.
