Girls track and field
A consistent performer all season, Morgan Peterman delivered a fourth-place finish for the Stillwater girls track and field team in the inaugural Class AAA state meet on Saturday, June 11 at STMA.
The junior broke her own school record while finishing fourth in the 800-meter prelims and ran even faster in the finals while finishing with a time of 2:13.47. She also contributed to a 13th-place 4x400 relay team.
The Ponies finished third in the Suburban East Conference this season before winning the Section 4AAA championship.
Balanced scoring has been one of the trademarks for the Stillwater boys lacrosse team and attacker Aidan Anderson did his part while helping the Ponies to an 18-5 victory over Woodbury in the state quarterfinals on Tuesday, June 14.
The senior delivered a team-high five goals and also supplied three assists to lift the fourth-seeded Ponies to a victory over a team they lost to during the regular season.
Stillwater (14-3), which placed fourth at state a year ago, advanced to face top-seeded Benilde-St. Margaret’s in the semis on June 16.
