The Stillwater Middle School First Lego League robotics team, Gaters 2.25, is heading to the state competition after winning the Champions award at a regional competition.

The Champions award is given to the team who performs best in all judging areas in each division. The students competed against 48 teams in the categories of Project, Core Values, Robot performance and Robot Design and Programming. Team members include Ananya Chari, Will Foote, Hallie Hansen and Owen Uglem.

Working with new robot components and new Scratch-based coding language, the team designed, built, and programmed a robot, and won the robot performance award in their twelve-team division.

This is the third straight year Stillwater Middle School students have competed at state.
